Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens have seen each other in the ring with or each other or against each other many times in WWE. The two have been arch rivals since 2016 when Owens became the Universal Champion and got to feud Seth Rollins with a 2 on 1 advantage. The feud continued for a long time and attracted a number of people without fail. In 2019, the two again became rivals when Rollins had adapted the Messiah gimmick.
This led to the two battling each other on Night 1 of WrestleMania 36 which was evented behind the doors. This led to their rivalry not getting the amount of reaction and support it should’ve got but the two former Universal Champions still managed to steal the show and become the two stars with the spotlight. The match between the two saw one spot which had never took place in WWE history. Kevin Owens climbed the WrestleMania sign during their match and then delivered Rollins a frog splash through the announcement table which affected Rollins a lot.
Appearing on a recent episode of the Pat McAfee Show, Seth Rollins revealed how much the splash by Kevin Owens affected him and that how COVID had affected the day-to-da life of WWE superstars. Here’s what he said:
“I wrestled on the independents for years in front of nobody, in front of absolutely nobody. So when it came back to COVID times and we’re in this empty warehouse and it’s a stale environment, the falling down hurt way worse. No question about it. Kevin Owens came off the WrestleMania sign, put his elbow right into the side of my ribs, I thought I broke every rib in my body.” – Sportskeeda
Seth Rollins will reportedly be a part of a major match at WrestleMania 38
Seth Rollins has now gimmicked the Visionary persona for a long time now. But there is no chance any WWE fan has got bored with his performance. Instead, everybody feel that Rollins is the person who saves WWE when the company needs a top quality match. This will also be seen at the 38th edition of the Grandest Stage of them All reportedly. Initially, reports claimed that following the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship, a marquee triple threat match will be seen at WrestleMania 38 involving Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and AJ Styles.
But now, new reports suggest that Rollins could come out from his feud with Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2022 and could interfere in the main event match between Reigns and his arch rival, Brock Lesnar. In addition to that, with rumors of Cody Rhodes returning to WWE and having a top match at WrestleMania 38, Rollins could be the one who gets to get in the ring with the former AEW superstar and the dream match could be a huge attraction for the most stupendous two night event in WWE history.
