Bronny James and The Miz
The Los Angeles Lakers’ newest addition Bronny James has been making the headlines lately after WWE star The Miz‘s recent comments regarding James. Notably, Miz made a guest appearance on the “NBA Today” show, sharing his opinions and views on the league and its players for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
During his recent guest appearance on NBA Today, The Miz was asked if he thought that LeBron James‘ time with Team USA would be his last opportunity to win a championship. The former WWE champion laughed at the notion and instead chose to speak about his son, Bronny James instead. Miz boldly stated that James Jr would take the “Lakers to the promised land.”

In addition, Miz also stated that he would have loved to see his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers draft James Jr through the 2024 NBA Draft. According to the Miz, this move would have seen LeBron James moving to the Cavs too, and end his glorious career with the Cavs.
On the contrary, Bronny was drafted as the 55th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2024 NBA Draft. Not only that but the Lakers’ head coach and General Manager have also been vocal regarding James Jr’s potential in the sport and have backed the former USC Trojan player. It remains to be seen now how James Jr. will perform in the 2024-25 NBA season for the Lakers.
Bronny James “upset” with performances in the Summer League
For rookies and recent arrivals to the NBA to display their abilities, the Summer League was established in operation. Bronny James, the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers, hasn’t yet found success in the league, though. James Jr., in particular, has been outspoken about his recent play in the league, calling himself in a “slump” and hoping to go back to his previous level soon.

James Jr. shot six of 26 from the field and zero of twelve from three-point range in the three games he participated in. In the three games he played, the Lakers have lost, and he only scored fifteen points.
James’ shooting has proved a weakness ever since he started competing at the amateur level. In his 25 games at USC, he shot 26.1% from three and 36.6% from the field. James Jr. will also need some time as a rookie to adjust to the excellent system and coaching of one of the top teams.
