WWE star Randy Orton abruptly ends to LeBron James GOAT discussions with Cody Rhodes
LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan GOAT discussion has a clear winner for WWE stars Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
WWE stars Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton talk about LeBron James in GOAT debate
In 21 seasons, LeBron James has exemplified greatness on the basketball court. Even though he falls short in NBA titles and MVP wins compared to Michael Jordan, his other accomplishments make him a GOAT candidate. Even superstars from other sporting worlds discuss his impact. After winning the MVP at the Paris Olympics, WWE stars Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes got into one such discussion.
The two superstars were having a candid conversation about all things in the WWE as well as other sports while on What Do You Wanna Talk About? The program is hosted on the WWE network. When Cody Rhodes brought up the NBA GOAT topic, Randy Orton said:
F**k LeBron.Randy Orton via What Do You Wanna Talk About?
Orton’s words brought an abrupt end to the conversation. The stats Rhodes brought up could justify the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s case to be the GOAT. However, Orton ended it abruptly.
Randy Orton might have a point here. According to many who have seen Michael Jordan play, don’t bother thinking about anyone else being in that GOAT conversation. So, when LeBron James fans come up with his stats, Jordan fans generally react in the same way Orton does.
Just that being a WWE superstar, he did not mind mouthing out expletives to end the conversation. It goes to show that many fans of the NBA do not want to consider anyone else as the GOAT than Michael Jordan. No amount of proof they give can take away from the impact Jordan had on the game.
LeBron James winning the Paris Olympics MVP has spurred GOAT debates
Fans of the game might be set on their GOAT. But no one argues that LeBron James winning the MVP at the Paris Olympics has not helped him advance in that discussion. However, his latest accomplishment has fueled debates all across the world.
Some Jordan loyalists have discredited the MVP win and argue that Stephen Curry should have won the award. Then there are others who suggest that Team USA barely scraped past international teams, whereas the Jordan-led Dream Team dominated in the 1992 Olympics.
It seems that no matter what LeBron James does, the NBA world will remain divided. However, a fifth NBA title and another NBA Finals MVP could force everyone to think. As he will have achieved something in his 40’s that Jordan did not.
