Without doubt, Madison Square Garden is one of the most iconic arenas in the world. Therefore, competing in the arena is always a big moment for any wrestler’s career. With that said, the latest edition of SmackDown emanated from MSG, and several stars appeared for the first time at the arena. As such, the Madison Square Garden officials decided to gift several stars who debuted on the show with special golden tickets.

Among the names were Indi Hartwell, Carmelo Hayes, and Elektra Lopez, all three of whom have jumped on the main roster in the past year. The Aussie wrestler had an eventful night on SmackDown. First, Hartwell cost Jade Cargill her Money in the Bank qualifying match by ambushing her from behind. Later on in the show, Big Jade would avenge her loss and similarly distract her rival during the latter’s MITB qualifier.

Although Hayes and Lopez didn’t wrestle on SmackDown, they did make brief appearances. The former NXT Champion expressed his confidence in winning the briefcase during a backstage segment involving Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews. Meanwhile, the Legado del Fantasma member accompanied her leader, Santos Escobar, prior to his triple-threat qualifying match.

In addition to that, Cargill and Hartwell’s tag team partner, Candice LeRae, competed at the iconic arena for the first time in their respective careers. Following their shenanigans, a tag team match for next week’s SmackDown was made official. All in all, this edition of SmackDown will definitely go down as one of the most memorable shows in recent times.

Tag Team Championship match announced for next week’s SmackDown

Next week’s SmackDown will likely continue the blue brand’s successful run. Emanating from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, WWE has announced a huge championship match. After weeks of back-and-forth jabs, #DIY will take on the champs, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

The former NXT Tag Team Champions have tried their best to convince Theory that Waller has been using him. A couple of weeks ago, a brawl ensued, which resulted in the 26-year-old star suffering an injury. As such, it seems that the seeds for a breakup between A-Town Down Under have been planted.

Since their jump to the main roster, #DIY has had an underwhelming run. Therefore, they’ll be looking to cash in on their golden opportunity next week on SmackDown. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether Theory and Waller finally split on the go-home show for Money in the Bank.
