“You’re gonna burn”; When the Undertaker disclosed the advice he gave to John Cena which the latter never followed
John Cena shares the ring with John Cena
The Undertaker commended John Cena for proving him wrong and becoming one of WWE’s greatest superstars when he appeared on the ‘After the Bell’ podcast. The Undertaker told Corey Graves that he didn’t think John Cena would become such a big figure in WWE when the two first met. He was, however, taken aback by John Cena’s dedication to his profession.
“I can’t name anybody else really that’s ever gotten that kind of polarizing fan reaction. Usually OK, we’re going to go this way with this character and we’re gonna make him this and we’re going to make him that, and John did John. That was a great thing. John did John, and it came off so good. He put his time in. Man, I know John is a super overachiever, just his work ethic, second to none.”
“I mean his media schedule on top of his work schedule. It was outrageous. I’ve actually told him that one time. I said, ‘John, for your sake, you need to learn the word no because.’ I mean he did everything. He never did. He proved me wrong, but I just said, ‘man, you’re going to burn yourself out.’ He’s amazing.” The Deadman remarked on the podcast.
The Undertaker received a five-minute standing ovation at WWE Hall of Fame 2022
The Deadman delivered a long, comprehensive monologue about his illustrious career before donning his renowned trenchcoat and cap and addressing the camera with the phrase “never say never.” Fans who had been cheering for The Phenom for five minutes straight wouldn’t let The Undertaker begin his speech.
It was not only a proof of the fans’ admiration for the 57-year-old, but it also made up for the fact that The Undertaker had to bid farewell to fans at Survivor Series in 2020 because to the epidemic, since there was no audience. The Deadman mentioned Shane and Stephanie McMahon throughout his statement, referring to the latter as “the sister I never wanted” before confessing his love for her family.
He also cited The Godfather, a close personal friend. ‘Taker then discussed his backstage pals, known as BSK, a group co-founded by the late Yokozuna, as well as “Crush” Bryan Adams and the last time he saw him. He also discussed the renowned Paul Bearer and the practical pranks he pulled on him. Undertaker also quipped that he copied all of his techniques from his on-screen brother Kane.
