“Was my main person that motivated me”; Theory shares his thoughts on John Cena

Theory posing with John Cena
Austin Theory or just ‘Theory‘ is considered as the emerging superstar in WWE. Outside of WWE, he won the Evolve championship in 2019 in a match against Roderick Strong and Fabian Aichner. His reputation was so strong that the company signed him while still holding that title, then briefly moved him to Raw.
Returning to Raw, after a brief spell at NXT, Theory scored his career best victories over Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio. Not only that, he is currently under the tutelage of the boss himself, Nice McMahon. Recently in an interview with Mark Andrew on the podcast, My Love Letter To Wrestling, he explained how John Cena’s character helped him during his school:
“His character and his personality and the things he did and the decisions he made, it made me feel motivated through you know being bullied and stuff in school, just other stuff like that”
He adds:
“He was my main person that motivated me, but I knew at a young age that I wanted to be in WWE, so, I was just a weird kid like 12, I was like ‘I’m wasting time, I need to get ready for my career’, so being like 13-14 people were like ‘what are you doing?’, i was like ‘oh I’m just getting ready for my career in WWE”

What will be next for Theory?
Theory is currently in the mentorship of Vince McMahon himself and by the looks of it, he will be continuing his feud with Finn Balor after a loss to Pat McAfee. The feud will likely culminate at Wrestlemania Backlash with Balor losing the US Championship.
