“Sit there and not say a word”: Vince McMahon’s advice to current AEW star

Vince McMahon is one of the most popular names in the industry of professional wrestling. A third-generation wrestling promoter – McMahon’s career started as a commentator way back in the 1970s. He used to work for his own father’s promotion – which he eventually bought and transformed it into a global brand which we today know as WWE.

McMahon has made WWE a brand that is recognized all over the globe. The Superstars who perform for the company are immediately catapulted to worldwide stardom. While recently the WWE CEO and Chairman has come under severe criticism for the sudden release of talent from the company. But there are several Superstars who have nothing but good things to say about the boss.

One such Superstar has shared some great insights he got from Vince McMahon. Daniel Bryan’s contract with WWE expired last year. The company tried really hard – willing to make several exceptions, to get the Leader of the Yes Movement to re-sign a contract with them. But they failed to do so.

Bryan moved to WWE’s biggest competitor All Elite Wrestling and has been performing for them ever since. Interestingly, it has been mentioned on several occasions that Daniel Bryan and WWE parted ways on really good terms. When Bryan appeared for an interview on The Masked Man Show he revealed some great advice that he had received from Vince McMahon.

“One of the things he first taught me, and this was before I was close with him, was the ability to use silence and to not say something if you don’t have an answer. If somebody asks you a question, ‘well, maybe we could do…’ and you put out maybe not even your best answer. You could just say, ‘Hmmm, let me think about it.’ Sometimes when you talk to him and ask him a question, he’ll sit there and not say a word for 30 seconds or longer, which feels like the longest time in history, but he’s not going to give you a bad answer,” mentioned the AEW star.

WWE is currently gearing up for their biggest event of the year – Wrestlemania 38. The premium event will spread across two nights and the company is leaving no stone unturned to make it an event to remember – or as Pat McAfee likes to call it “STUPENDOUS!”

For the event the company has taken a “Everything is on the table” approach. This basically means that any idea – no matter how atrocious it sounds can be pitched for the Showcase of Immortals. One such idea seems to have been finalized. Reports suggest that WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon could be colliding against Pat McAfee!
