Olympic Gold Medalist, Gable Stevenson was supposed to make his big debut in WWE a couple of years ago. However, it hasn’t happened yet, which left fans wondering if he would ever make his in-ring debut.

Stevenson was drafted to Monday Night RAW in October 2021. He even made a brief appearance at WrestleMania 38, where he humbled Chad Gable. He was also a part of Kurt Angle’s birthday celebration, where both the Olympic Gold Medalists “milked” Chad Gable and Otis. However, Stevenson has not made his main roster debut yet. It begs the question, will Gable Stevenson ever make his in-ring debut in WWE?

It was reported and even confirmed by Triple H, that WWE had big plans for Gable Stevenson. However, all that went away when the Gold Medalist underwent a heart procedure. Triple H revealed that he wanted to work with Stevenson prior to his health scare. He had even pitched some ideas to Vince McMahon. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on what plans WWE had in store for Stevenson:

“The original idea was he was gonna do college wrestling… bring him to a couple of Raws during the year. He wasn’t gonna wrestle,….build up his debut which was gonna be at WrestleMania…..never appeared, still hasn’t appeared…..He’d retired after winning the Olympic gold medal…. he came back from the Olympics… he was gonna go into WWE and all that”.

What’s next for Gable Stevenson?

According to Meltzer, the Gold Medalist had Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and had to undergo a heart procedure. He further said that Stevenson was supposed to be fast-tracked into the main roster right after the college season. However, that’s pretty unlikely to happen now. Even though he didn’t make his expected debut in WWE due to his disease, Gable Stevenson is looking to return to amateur competition.

He is also planning on winning a second gold medal at the Olympics. He said that he would love to return to WWE as an entertainer as well. However, if it does end up happening, it’s likely to be in 2024. As of now, WWE has no plans for his return, although his return to the ring is imminent.
