WWE working on bringing in Sting from AEW to induct 66-year-old legend into the Hall of Fame: Report
WWE is working to bring Sting to induct his longtime friend into the 2025 Hall of Fame on the night before WrestleMania.

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 features an incredible lineup of legendary and influential wrestling figures. WWE will induct Triple H for his iconic solo career after already honoring him as a member of DX. This yearโs class also includes Michelle McCool and Lex Luger, the latter of whom wants retired AEW legend Sting to induct him.
According to Fightful, WWE has already tried to invite The Icon to induct Luger at the Hall of Fame ceremony the night before WrestleMania. It was also reported that the 66-year-old legend and those close to him told WWE that Sting has always been his preferred choice for the induction. However, the WCW legend has informed some people that he might not be able to do it due to his current contract with AEW.
This could be another instance of tension between WWE and AEW. While some WWE fans hoped Tony Khan would allow Stinger to attend the Hall of Fame ceremony and induct Luger, others have supported AEW and believe that the CEO should refuse. A few months ago, the 65-year-old legend revealed in an interview that he signed a multi-year deal with AEW and would make occasional appearances.
WWE was planning to make overtures, if they hadnโt already, about having Sting induct Lex Luger into the WWE HOF.

Luger’s Hall of Fame induction is well-deserved and long overdue in the eyes of many fans. While co-winning the Royal Rumble with Bret Hart was the highlight of his WWE career, Luger truly thrived in WCW. He won the WCW World Heavyweight Title twice, the WCW U.S. Title once, and the WCW Tag Team Titles twice. AEW has provided no clarity so far, leaving fans unsure if Sting can induct his friend into the Hall of Fame.
Diamond Dallas Page was extremely happy upon hearing the news of his friend Lex Luger’s Hall of Fame induction
Diamond Dallas Page is someone who has closely followed Lex Luger’s progress and was thrilled to hear the news. He was also present when Cody Rhodes first announced his induction. The 68-year-old legend shared a social media post congratulating Luger on the moment he had been waiting for a long time.

He took to X, calling Luger “his boy” and said that he had finally found his place in the Hall of Fame. Diamond Dallas Page has helped Luger in his recovery for years. Thanks to DDP’s work, Luger can now stand up from his wheelchair without assistance. Page himself was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017 by Eric Bischoff.
Our boy is finally where he’s supposed to be…in the WWEHOF. Congrats Lex Luger!

Adam Pearce, the Raw GM, also congratulated him, saying he deserved the induction. Other stars like Kane, Natalya, and Nic Nemeth have sent their best wishes after the announcement by the Stamford-based company. This year’s Hall of Fame inductions have been full of surprises, with The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels surprising Hunter, after which the latter repaid the favor to Michelle McCool. Meanwhile, Rhodes surprised Lex Luger.
Who else could induct Lex Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame?
The Jacksonville-based company still needs to decide whether Sting can attend the ceremony. If he cannot, other candidates could step in to honor Luger’s legacy. Bret Hart played a huge role in The Narcissist’s success in WWE, as, in Luger’s own words, Hart protected him a lot.

If not Sting, the other obvious option is, again, Diamond Dallas Page. The 66-year-old legend himself expressed his desire to stand with DDP on the podium. So, if the opportunity arises, the former WCW Champion could induct his close friend into the Hall of Fame.
While speaking with Eric Bischoff, Luger said he would love to have both of his friends on stage with him. He also shared that he prefers to speak freely rather than follow a script. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on April 18th at the BleauLive Theater in Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
