The practice session of golfers ahead of the 2024 Masters continued on Tuesday as 2023 US Open winner Wyndham Clark hit the greens of the Augusta National. Clark, who will be making his debut at the Masters this year, found himself getting trolled for his outfit choice.

During the practice round on Tuesday, the World No.4 donned an orange colored floral setting shirt. This came as a surprise to many as he usually wears a normal t-shirt and pant at tournaments. The American golf star has an endorsement deal with Municipal, a brand founded by Hollywood megastar and golf fan Mark Wahlberg. This unique outfit thus came from them.

It is not unusual for brands to show off some of their collection at major championships. Last year, Norwegian star Viktor Hovland stole the headlines due to his outfit choices at the major events. The 2023 FedEx Cup champion would wear colorful shirts designed by J Lindeberg, which ignited mixed reactions from fans.

Speaking on Wyndham Clark, he would sport khaki trousers and went with a pink and white cap. He also attended the press conference in this clothes, which signaled that he might wear some more designs such as these during the tournament.

It is said that first impression matters the most. While Wyndham Clark has already impressed some with his gameplay, this will be his first time he will be playing at the Augusta National. This is a course where golfers do not want to look bad.

As soon as the pictures of Clark’s outfit went viral on social media, fans jumped in to give their opinions regarding his fit. Unfortunately for the 30-year-old golfer, they were unimpressed with his style and trolled him heavily on X. One user wrote that his shirt looked like “piece of wasted paint“.

Judging by the reactions of the fans, it seems his relationship with them has strained further. Clark has been under the wrath of the golfing community for his support to the idea of having reduced playing field.

He though could get them back on his side if he manages to walk away with the green jacket this year. This Thursday, he will become just the third golfer after Jack Fleck and Orville Moody to make his debut at the Masters after winning the US Open in the previous year. A victory at the Augusta National after etching his name in history books could be something that could mend his relationship with the fans.
