Xander Schauffele won the 152nd Open Championship in Royal Troon with a final-round 65. He finished at 9 under par, two strokes ahead of Justin Rose and Billy Horschel. Schauffele’s speech during the trophy presentation ceremony showed how much winning meant to him.
Schauffele pulled away with three birdies in five holes on the back nine. This was his second major triumph of 2024, following his success in the PGA Championship in May. The 30-year-old American has won two majors in three starts. He is the first player in Masters history to have three final rounds of 65 or better in a single year.

Schauffele’s consistent performance and clutch putting were too much for the rest of the field on a difficult closing day at Royal Troon. He joins an exclusive group of 15 players who have won the Open and a second major in the same season.
The 152nd Open Championship was held in Royal Troon in Scotland from July 18 to 21, 2024. The event had a prize money of $17 million, with the winner collecting $3.1 million. The competition included 156 players, including some big names. Nevertheless, Schauffele persevered with his dream of wanting to hold the trophy in his career.

Xander Schauffele won the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, shooting a final score of 21 under par. He received a record-breaking $3.33 million for his win. Schauffele’s amazing performance featured rounds of 62-68-68-65, which set a major championship score record. He outperformed Bryson DeChambeau, who finished second with a score of 20 under par and won $1,998,000.
The 2024 PGA Championship took place from May 16 to 19, 2024. The overall purse was $18.5 million, representing a $1 million increase over the previous year. The pitch consisted of 156 players.
The controversial Viktor Hovland finished third with a score of 18 under par and received $1,258,000. Other notable finishers were Jon Rahm (4th, $845,000), Rory McIlroy (5th, $715,000), and Collin Morikawa (6th, $625,000).
