This upcoming Sunday, NFL will showcase one of its most thrilling matchups between two fierce rivals– Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. The rivalry between these two NFC North clubs has endured for over 100 years, to the extent that even politicians have learned to leverage it for their own gain.
When it comes to such long-standing rivalry and now being carried on by today’s players, there’s always an added intensity that makes the match even more thrilling. It’s already begun as the Packers’ Xavier McKinney made a snarky remark on the Bears’ DJ Moore for walking off the field in the middle of the game.
While talking to the reporters on Wednesday, the Packers safety called out the Bears’ star wide receiver for direspecting Caleb Williams. He had walked off and left the rookie alone on the field when he was looking for an open receiver, against the Arizona Cardianals, amid the humiliating 29-9 loss.
Packers Star Safety Xavier McKinney on DJ Moore:
— Dave (@dave_bfr) November 13, 2024
"This dude walked out on his QB.. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. You’re supposed to be the guy and you’re just walking off the field. You’re walking off the field on a rookie quarterback."
He isn't buying the injury excuse.
Although Moore clarified that he walked off the field due to twisting his ankle in the first half of Monday’s game, McKinney was not convinced by the explanation and accused him of abandoning his quarterback during a scramble.
Xavier McKinney responds to DJ Moore’s dismissive remarks about him in offseason
The tension between McKinney and Moore escalated to a whole new level this offseason, fueled not only by their rivalry. In an interview with the Up & Adams show earlier this year in May, Moore mocked Green Bay safety by feigning not to know him when asked about him, responding with, “Who?”
The upcoming match between these teams is sure going to be interesting, especially since McKinney is having an incredible year in Green Bay (6-3) but Moore is struggle to play consistently as Chicago sits at 4-5 record.
