Xavier Woods will be completing 20 years as a professional wrestler this summer. As such, the 11-time WWE Tag Team Champion took to X to reflect on achieving this milestone. The New Day member revealed that he had kicked off his journey to become a wrestler soon after he graduated high school. Further, Woods continued to train during his college days as he finally got his first big gig in TNA.
At Bound For Glory 2007, he teamed with Ron Killings, better known as R-Truth. After impressing the higher-ups, the formerly known Austin Creed received a contract offer from TNA. Despite having six months left until graduation, Woods chose to join the promotion and informed Jeff Jarrett about his decision.ย

The 2021 King of the Ring added how he enjoyed touring overseas while winning the tag titles with Jay Lethal. After TNA released him in 2010, Xavier Woods went to NJPW, where he would compete in the Super 8 tournament. Finally, he joined WWE and moved to the developmental brand at the time, FCW. The 37-year-old recalled shifting to the Performance Center and breaking down the walls with sledgehammers.
When he shifted to the main roster, he was once again revealed as R-Truth’s ally. However, the best part of his career came when he joined forces with Kofi Kingston and Big E to form The New Day. Referring to his teammates as his ‘brothers’, Woods gushed about watching them win the WWE Championship. Meanwhile, his own “boyhood dream” was accomplished when he won the King of the Ring tournament.ย
Nevertheless, the former TNA star expressed his desire to win a singles championship in WWE. All in all, Woods has become a fan favorite over the years. Therefore, the WWE Universe has always wished to see him excel in and out of the ring.
Xavier Woods has been involved in a feud with Karrion Kross
For the past few weeks on Raw, Karrion Kross has kicked off a rivalry with The New Day. The leader of the Final Testament has been trying to drive a wedge between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Kross pointed out how the former TNA star’s teammates have overshadowed him.

Therefore, the former NXT Champion offered Woods the chance to join his faction instead. On the latest episode of Raw, a match between Kingston and Kross was made official for tonight’s edition. However, during a backstage promo, fans noted that the former WWE Champion interrupted his teammate.
Moreover, the title on the screen read “Kofi Kingston with Xavier Woods” which hinted toward Kross being right about the duo. Having said that, it will be interesting to see how the 2021 King of the Ring winner reacts to what transpired last week.
