After missing a couple of days of Kansas City Chiefs training due to illness, Xavier Worthy returned to practice on Wednesday (July 31). However, the young wideout received a tough welcome back present from one of the defenders.
A short clip that went viral in a matter of moments captured the entire incident. As quarterback Patrick Mahomes scanned for players post-snap in 7-on-7 drills, Worthy came into motion and tried his best to lose his marker.
The 21-year-old took a tumble when the defender effortlessly threw him and the ball sailed over his head. The size difference really played a part, but fans on social media felt concerned for Worthy.

There haven’t been many wide receivers in recent years who were under 6 feet and weighed close to 170 pounds. Worthy ticked all the boxes, but the Chiefs did not trade up and draft him in the first round for his size; they took him for his breathtaking speed, and route running.
Regardless, Worthy’s first training camp has been a mixed bag. While the coaches saw the potential, they also pointed out his shortcomings.
He's [Xavier Worthy] been working hard. We just got to keep him going here and keep learning. We're just one install into it, and we've got 12 of them, so he's got a lot more information coming at him.Head coach Andy Reid said per Bleacher Report

Xavier Worthy was unhappy with his Madden 25 ratings
Worthy shocked the football world during the 2024 NFL Combine. He completed the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds, breaking John Ross’ previous record.
EA Sports Madden 25 recently released the fastest players in the game. For obvious reasons, former Chief and current Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill remains the fastest with 99 overall speed.
Game developers gave Xavier Worthy 98, placing him just behind Hill. The Texas graduate did not like it and threatened to boycott the game.

Madden 25 also released the overall ratings of every Chiefs receiver on the roster.
- Marquise Brown – 81
- Rashee Rice – 81
- Kadarius Toney – 77
- Mecole Hardman – 76
- Xavier Worthy – 75
- Justin Watson – 74
- Justyn Ross – 72
- Skyy Moore – 72
- Montrell Washington – 68
- Cornell Powell – 67
Madden’s ratings have always frustrated players over the years and will continue to do so. Regardless, Worthy’s pace has been causing problems for defenders in the practice. ,
Fast as hell as everyone knows... The biggest thing for me is that he's been catching the ball. You love to see it. Guys, come in here and wanna run fast, wanna run hard, but at the end of the day, it's catching the ball.Cornerback Trent McDuffie said

This bodes well for Patrick Mahomes. With pacey receivers in the front line, he can afford to go deeper, unlike last season when the Chiefs revised their strategy to run the ball more after players began dropping balls at regular intervals.
