In 2024, Kansas City Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy made headlines with his record-setting performance at the NFL Combine. The 21-year-old from Fresno, California ran the 40-yard in 4.21 seconds to become the fastest man at the skills competition ahead of the annual draft.
Xavier Worthy’s former record-setting performance once again gained traction after Isaiah Bond and Jaydon Blue, the 2025 NFL potential draftees admitted aiming for the record. Although Bond ended up without realizing his dream, he pushed Worthy’s last year’s antics to the limelight once again.
In light of the recent limelight, Kansas City Chiefs shared a video showing the development of Xavier Worthy from a young boy from California to being a Super Bowl contender. Although the Chiefs failed to win the Super Bowl LIX, Worthy was able to prove his skills to the world shining in his first game with a touchdown.
Nicole “Nicky” Jones, the mother of Xavier Worthy, reacted to the tweet by dropping a four-word quote on her son’s achievements.
Always confident never cocky.

The previous record belonged to John Ross who clocked 4.22 seconds in 2017. He was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals with high hopes. Plagued by injuries and inconsistency, Ross struggled to carve out a significant role beyond being a gadget player. Over five seasons, he accumulated just 957 receiving yards—a mark many top receivers surpass in a single season. By 2023, he was out of the league, and his once-elite speed was reduced to little more than a footnote in NFL Combine history.

Xavier Worthy hit back at Isaiah Bond and Jaydon Blue and asserted his dominance on the platform.

There’s fast, then there’s me

Worthy was sending a clear message to anyone challenging his speed—especially those who talk big but fall short.

Worthy’s statement came in response to Xavier Bond, who had confidently predicted he would surpass Worthy’s time. Leading up to the NFL Combine, Bond had high expectations for himself, even suggesting that breaking the record would be effortless. However, Worthy’s performance ultimately did the talking, cementing his place as the true speed king.
As for Blue, Worthy had a different message. “Respect those who come before you,” Xavier Worthy posted on his Instagram story, sending a clear message to Blue. His statement served as a reminder to acknowledge those who paved the way, urging Blue to show respect for the standard set before him.
