“Y’all better hurry up!” Lakers super fan Snoop Dogg sends warning to Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka
West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg sent a stern message to the Lakers' brass of Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Bus amidst trade speculations.
Snoop Dogg sent a warning to Lakers management of Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss
The Los Angeles Lakers need to shake things up. That’s a sentiment that most fans believe, but something that hasn’t permeated into the front office of the team yet. Snoop Dogg, a diehard Los Angeles Lakers fan and an equally outspoken critic, sent a pointed message to the Lakers’ front office during his recent appearance on ESPN’s First Take.
Snoop Dogg expressed frustration with the team’s lack of progress and challenged GM Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss to get a move on as time dwindles for the Lakers’ future. They failed to capitalize on their initial momentum following a strong start to the season, and Snoop didn’t hold back in his critique of the team’s roster construction.
The Long Beach rapper’s comments displayed the disconnect between fan expectations and the reality of the Lakers as they currently stand. Despite stellar numbers from LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the supporting cast has been wildly inconsistent. The Lakers rank a dismal 26th in defensive rating, something that has been a thorn in rookie HC JJ Redick’s side.

Rob Pelinka’s approach of continuity from last season has yet to yield significant results, leaving many, including Snoop Dogg, questioning whether this roster can contend for a championship. After ending their season in disappointment for a few years in a row, Snoop only echoed sentiments that have been circled by Lakers fans. Jeanie Bus and Rob Pelinka need to make a change and it needs to happen soon.
Snoop Dogg not impressed by Bronny James’ breakout performance
Snoop Dogg offered a tempered response to Bronny James’ standout game in the G-League. Bronny, who dropped 30 points on 13-of-23 shooting in just 25 minutes, showcased his potential during his much-discussed road debut with the South Bay Lakers. The performance was widely hailed as a breakout, but Snoop wasn’t quick to celebrate.
Bronny James’ return to form, especially after recovering from a heel injury, has been a promising sign for the young player. Thursday’s game demonstrated his ability to command the offense and capitalize on any opportunities that present themselves. At the end of the day, though, Snoop Dogg’s critique is not far from the reality of the situation.
The G-League is valuable for honing skills, but the true test of the 20-year-old’s talent awaits at the NBA level. Can he prove that he’s worth the hype?
