The 2024 World Series saw the Los Angeles Dodgers claim their 8th championship ring as they defeated the New York Yankees 4-1. Following the series win, several Dodgers’ stars took a swipe at their opponents with some trash-talking. Yankees manager Aaron Boone has now taken aim for their lack of ‘class’.
The Yankees struggled heavily in the field against the Dodgers. In Game 5, stars like Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole made some poor plays which saw the Dodgers come back from 5-0 down to win the game 7-6 and clinch the series.
After the victory, players like Joe Kelly and Miguel Rojas took some digs at the Yankees. While Kelly claimed that the Yankees were probably the 8th or 9th overall team in the postseason, Rojas took a swipe at their “lazy defense”.
During the Spring Training press conference on Tuesday, Aaron Boone was asked about these comments. The reporters would ask if took some of that trash-talking personally. He would nod his head and take aim regarding class between them and the Dodgers.
Probably, a little bit. The reality is we didn’t play our best in the series and they won, so they had that right to say whatever. Hopefully, we’re in that position next year and handle things with a little more class.

The offseason has seen the Yankees make some big moves. After losing out on Juan Soto, the team added two former MVPs Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt. Apart from that they have also brought in Max Fried as a starting pitcher and traded Nestor Cortes for top closing pitcher Devin Williams.
However, the spotlight is likely going to be on their fielding aspect of the game in the upcoming season following that loss. It remains to be seen how the Bronx Bombers tackle this one problem going ahead.

Speaking on his contract extension talk, the Yankees manager claimed that there have been no talks regarding it.
Nothing’s happened yet. I know there have been some talks around that. That’ll handle itself and work itself out. The reality is I’m so fired up to be here today and to get to work for this organization and for Hal, that hopefully something does work out.
