The New York Yankees and New York Mets are going all in on the final Juan Soto call. They have put $710 million to $730 million on the table and may even up the dollars if needed.

Soto is expected to sign within a day or two and the whole MLB world is holding their breath for that news. Apart from the NY teams, the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Boston Red Sox are close suitors of Soto’s services.

However, as of now, the Dodgers are yet to enter the $700 million territory. They were considered as the unlikely team to snatch Soto and it remains true as of now. According to industry rumors, they have offered him something around $600 million +.

The likely destination from Juan Soto will be NY, but with which team is yet to be seen. The Mets owner Steve Cohen earlier announced how he’d be up $50 million on top of anything other MLB teams offer.

Will he do that? It’s not yet confirmed. Soto on the other hand, may not go to the highest bidder as his priority is also to sign with a team with Championship dreams. While his addition to the NY Mets will raise the stakes, he has already tasted the Fall Classic atmosphere with the pinstripes.

For the Yankees, Soto is a must-add if they wish to challenge the World Series in October. He played a crucial role and carried the team to the WS this year. However, the pinstripes are also ready with Plan B in case Soto signs with any rival teams.

With rumors of Soto signing prior to the Winter Meetings, the free agency market is in a frenzy. While the likely winners maybe either the Mets or Yankees, many believe the Boston Red Sox may also be a challenge.

He’s a game-changing type of bat in the middle of the order. I thought whoever signs him is a World Series favorite, in my opinion. He changes the dynamic of a lineup. His presence is felt not just on the field, but all over the league. The example that he sets in the box is something that all hitters strive for and that’s complete dominance of the zone.

Casas further talked about how he took the Washington Nationals, and the New York Yankees to the World Series, and the San Diego Padres to the playoffs. He believes no matter which team and for how long he plays with them, Soto will have a magical effect on the whole roster.

That is true and Soto did prove his championship-level talent in 2024. It not only hyped up his resume but also highlighted how much he can improve further and provide any team for years to come. Now, it’s only left to see which jersey he dons.
