New York Yankees continue to struggle as they lose once again to their rivals Tampa Bay Rays with a 5-4 record. While the season started with the Yanks owning the Majors best record, it has now become a story of the past.
Since mid-June till now, the team has been inconsistent in their performance, even leading to their three-game series sweep by the Boston Red Sox last week. Although GM Brian Cashman has not pointed out the shortcomings of the team, the pundits have taken a guess, focusing on their pitching points, and overall team performance.
Their best bet would be to reinforce the team with new additions, and Cashman has already plans to do so. They are currently planning on being “open-minded” as the July 30 MLB trade deadline approaches.
It’s been a struggle, obviously. Thankfully, we got out of the gates really strong. Hopefully that cushion will allow us to work through this, hopefully sooner than later, because it’s gone on long enough.Brian Cashman as per X.

Although fans on social media are chanting to fire manager Aaron Boone, Cashman has a different take on the situation. He believes Boone is managing the Yankees slide “as well as he possibly can.” Unfortunately, they have still struggled to win against the rivals in their own division.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman says team’s slide has “been a tough stretch for us”
New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman commented on the team’s performance saying, “It’s been a tough stretch for us,” as they’ve failed to win consecutive games since June. The team’s star pitcher Aaron Judge also admitted how hearing boos from the fans is hard. “It stings,” he commented.
Although hearing boos may be tough, Judge prefers to hear that in New York rather than elsewhere as this is a message to do better and remind yourselves that “we got a high standard here in Pinstripes.” Cashman also added on the Yanks situation,
You can hit some rough spots, and we’re certainly as rough as they come right now.Brian Cashman as per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Currently, the team needs to redo both its offensive and defensive power. Although pitchers have given up HRs several times, batting has also been a concern for the team.

According to SI, the NY Yankees are apparently planning to add multiple relief pitchers from the Reds at the trade deadline. While the names of any specific players are unknown, there are a few guesses among which, are Brent Suter, Buck Farmer, Nick Martinez, and Alexis Diaz who is also the brother of NY Mets pitcher Edwin Diaz.
