The Game 5 of the 2024 World Series is one thing the New York Yankees would like to forget about. The Los Angeles Dodgers would come back from 5-0 down to win the match and claim the World Series after a fielding error from Aaron Judge.

The Dodgers recently auctioned off that dropped ball. This ignited a furious reaction from a Yankees radio host who called them out as a “bunch of classless pigs.”

In the fifth inning, the Yankees were in a strong position as they led 5-0. A dominant performance from pitcher Gerrit Cole kept the Dodgers at bay. However, Judge would later drop an easy catch which eventually ignited a massive meltdown.

A few more errors from the team saw the Dodgers level the game at 5-5. In the end, the National League champions turned the game around and emerged as 7-6 winners, claiming their eighth World Series title in the process.

As per reports, the dropped ball of Aaron Judge has been sold for $43,510 at a charity auction by the Dodgers. This move by the team has angered some of the Yankees fans with radio host Evan Roberts being one of them.

On WFAN Sports Radio, Roberts went off on the Los Angeles-based franchise and brutally attacked them. He claimed that the Dodgers showed who they are by this move.

I think the Dodgers showed who they are. They’re a bunch of classless pigs.

Evan Roberts said on WFAN Sports Radio

Recently, the Dodgers also auctioned off Freddie Freeman‘s bat with which he hit the walk-off grand slam in Game 1. According to MLB.com, that bat was sold for a whopping $1.56 million. This surpassed the $1.5 million that Judge’s 62nd home run bat was sold for in December 2022.

On Saturday’s fight night event, Judge was one of the biggest names to attend this event. The card which featured Colby Covington vs. Joaquin Buckley as the main event, also saw Judge’s teammate Clarke Schmidt among the crowd.

Apart from them, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow, Toronto Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette, and four-time All-Star free agent Pete Alonso were also present at the event in the Amalie Arena.

This event marked the return of Covington to the octagon after a year-long hiatus. The return did not turn out to be as he might have planned though as he lost via a TKO in the third round.
