The New York Yankees’ wait will finally be answered on Monday with the meeting scheduled with Juan Soto. The team will attempt to woo the outfielder back on the roster. After successful back-to-back meetings with the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays, the Yankees have their turn to drive in the sales pitch.

They are ready for the battle and revealed some of their strategic points during an interview with NJ.com’s Bob Klapisch. The meeting will take place in Newport Beach, California. The owner Hal Steinbrenner, GM Brian Cashman, manager Aaron Boone, outfielder Juan Soto, and his agent Scott Boras will attend the meeting.

Last week Soto had a successful and “productivemeeting with both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox. Their “very detailed” meeting with presentations and promises has impressed Soto so far. How the Yankees approach and topple everyone’s offers is the real question.

Pinstripes owner Hal Steinbrenner is not afraid to back away from the challenge. According to sources who know about Yankees strategies, team captain Aaron Judge will play a crucial role.

It’s the idea of pairing up with (Aaron) Judge, and going to the playoffs practically every year.

The Yankees will indeed need Juan Soto to make another run at the World Series in 2025. He, along with Giancarlo Stanton proved to be the team’s consistent offensive duo in the postseason. While the Judge-Soto pair riled up the crowds in the regular season, the captain went into a slump in the October spotlight.

His miscues, especially in Game 5 played a role in the team’s 6-7 loss in Game 5 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Not only did he fail to come out of his slump, but he also missed a fly ball catch which proved to be a fatal error for the team to recover from.

Juan Soto’s free agency battle is expected to finish “fairly quickly”

Despite all the buzz going around, an MLB executive believes Juan Soto will make “a decision fairly quickly.” The top teams in the race are – the NY Mets, Red Sox, Yankees, and Blue Jays. The LA Dodgers were also considered to be a part of the bid, but according to various reports, they are not going to participate.

The Dodgers are currently focusing on re-signing and structuring their own lineup and won’t necessarily end up on the Juan Soto quest. Regardless, any team that signs up Soto will have to pay a good hundred million as the price is expected to go up to $700 million.

Even if he doesn’t surpass Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohatni’s total contract value, Soto may surpass the annual average value. He is expected to get $50 million AAV, but nothing is confirmed as of now.
