This Friday UFC releases one of the famous Middleweight fighters Yoel ‘The Soldier of God’ Romero. Romero’s release came as a shock for many people because the former title contender still has three fights left in his original UFC contract but still, UFC released him. At UFC Vegas 16’s post-match press conference Dana White says the list of cut off this year is really long.

Dana White says, “It’s not just Yoel, We’re going to go through some serious cuts here at the end of the year. We’re probably going to have 60 cuts before the first of the year. Yoel has lost four of his last five. He’s 44 years old. Our roster is very inflated right now.”

“We’re going to have some big cuts coming before the end of the year. You’re going to see a lot of names going here in the next several weeks. These are the tough decisions you have to make.” Romero was on a three-fight losing streak and he last lost the fight against UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Apart from Romero, the news came in that Justin Ledet, Bevon Lewis, Cole Smith, and Collin Huckbody also parted ways with UFC. So until this year’s end, we may listen to some other big names too parting ways from UFC.

Romero is uncertain of his future

Yoel Romero

Yoel Romero’s manager stated while talking to ESPN told that they are already in talks with other promotions for signing Yoel Romero but it isn’t certain with which promotion Yoel will continue his MMA carrier.

Dana White already stated that UFC is making way for the new and emerging talent from this year and this will lead to the release of the fighters. Even if they are one of the greatest like Anderson Silva or Yoel Romero.
