UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili has a reputation for standing out as the funniest in the room. Recently, Dvalishvili did it again as he admitted that his pre-fight meal seemingly troubled him during his championship fight. While saying he also took a sly jab at the former champion Sean O’Malley.

Merab Dvalishvili fulfilled his long-awaited dream after becoming the new UFC bantamweight champion at UFC 306. The Georgian comfortably defeated the former champ with his grappling prowess. However, there were some instances when O’Malley inflicted some damage on Dvalishvili. Interestingly, the Georgian fighter hilariously mentions that it was because of a pre-fight meal that made him slightly uncomfortable during the fight.

However, that didn’t bother Merab Dvalishvili as he extended his win streak to 11. Interestingly, all of these come after the heated rivalry between the Georgian and the Montana native. ‘Suga’, in particular, verbally thrashed Dvalishvili a lot ahead of their fight. However, when it came to actual fighting, O’Malley couldn’t perform as he promised. As for the ‘Machine’, he delivered as he promised his fans.

With that win, Dvalishvili’s supporters laid out rallies in the streets of Georgia, celebrating their countrymen’s achievement. However, as for O’Malley, he seemed to have made peace with his defeat as he took to his socials to mention that.

Coming back to the Georgian, with that dominating he has shut down several doubtful questions surrounding. As such, several UFC legends have also come up to sing praises of the Merab Dvalishvili.

Dvalishvili showed great character to dethrone a formidable champion like O’Malley who had several picture-esque knockout victories in the past. Most importantly against the Georgian fighter’s teammate Aljamain Sterling. To mitigate the threat that Suga poses, he laid out a game plan to close in the gaps in the fight. Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier who witnessed that closely, heaped praises on Dvalishvili’s tactically brilliant game.

The Noche UFC (UFC 306) main event garnered attention from a lot of individuals as one of the most promising superstars failed to defend his title. Along with Cormier, there were various reactions from other former UFC fighters as well. However, DC, in particular, reveals how Dvalishvili’s fight style is so dangerous.

Now following that fight, both fighters have opted for different paths. Sean O’Malley recently mentioned about taking a year-long break to undergo a surgery. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili has been receiving constant callouts from the Dagestani prospect Umar Nurmagomedov. However, now it remains to be seen against whom will the Machine have his first title defense.
