Aaron Rodgers has gotten the maximum benefit of being a veteran. The New York Jets have cut as much slack as possible and made numerous exceptions for him ranging from bringing his preferred choice of teammates aboard to enabling him to skip the team’s mandatory minicamp.
Despite this, head coach Robert Saleh and others in the New York Jets camp continue to rave about his prowess and impact. So much so that a certified Jets fan, Craig Carton is sick of it. The analyst went on a serial rant on The Carton Show wherein he pointed out everything wrong with the Jets’ treatment of Rodgers.
Carton is sick of the continued attention and hype that Rodgers is getting despite not having proven himself on the Jets. He said that there’s no doubt that Rodgers is a great quarterback and a first-ballot Hall of Famer but the Jets have to stop hyping him up unnecessarily.
I think this has to come to an end too, Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback no one is going to dispute that. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer, no one is going to dispute that...the level of a**kissing and brown-nosing that my organization continues to do, you'd think he's Jesus...Craig Carton said.

Carton isn’t doubting the greatness and potential that Aaron Rodgers has. He takes issue with the fact that even before the quarterback can prove himself on the field, he is being looked at as a sort of messiah- one who has already taken them to a Super Bowl. Head coach Robert Saleh in particular continues to push this narrative and hold him in high regard.
Craig Carton is done with the Aaron Rodgers hype
Carton further said that despite being a die-hard Jets fan, he has now reached his limit. He also adds that it’s getting crazy and the Jets have to stop worshipping him like Jesus.
It's getting a little crazy...but there also comes a time where he's not Jesus, he doesn't walk on water. We gotta stop this...I've kind of reached my limit and I'm a die-hard Jets fan.Carton added.
While he acknowledged that Rodgers on the Jets has all the fans excited, Carton believes the media and the management are going overboard by hyping it more than it should be.

His perspective is that Jets fans want to see the results. They have had enough hopes pumped up and enough expectations given to them. Now, they just want to see Aaron Rodgers get out there and perform.
"I've kinda reached my limit."

It comes as no surprise that Rodgers continues to be the most hyped QB heading into this season. It is due to him that the Jets received six prime-time games this year and the entire Jets fanbase is closely watching how he fares. There is a lot riding on his shoulders this season- pressure and expectations. The real question is if he can live up to them or not.
