American rapper Snoop Dogg has never been far away from the sports world, until the Paris Olympics hit the road and he became a constant presence. However, little do people know that he had stepped one foot in the sports world way back, as revealed by Jim Gray.
On the recent installment of the “Let’s Go” podcast with Bill Belichick, Maxx Crosby, Peter King & Jim Gray, rapper Snoop Dogg made an appearance. During the chat, Jim Gray narrated an instance with Dogg that nobody knew. A young Snoop Dogg had met Gray when the latter was a reporter for ESPN. The interaction was initiated by Gray after he recalled seeing Dogg at El Segundo all the time, doing none but greet everybody going in. Upon enquiring, the then-young rapper shared wanting to be a ball boy or anything that would make him be on the team.
That wasn’t the end of the story as Gray narrated having seen him again after what might have been 15-20 years. Gray once again went on to meet Snoop Dogg at the Staples Center watching Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal at a championship. That was when the rapper introduced him with his real name and made him remember that the two had previously met.
Snoop Dogg was on every screen this summer donning the role of special correspondent at the Olympic Games. The rapper delivered some hilarious commentary while interacting with the families of the athletes. His contribution undoubtedly took the Olympics to another level.
Snoop Dogg likely to reprise Olympic role in Milano Cortina
Snoop Dogg went viral for his performances at the Paris Olympics and not the musical performances that is. The rapper put all his might into supporting Team USA as a part of US broadcasters NBC coverage team. The good news for the fans is that Snoop Dogg will likely be spotted at the corners of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Snoop Dogg went on to the Today Show in October and his plans for the 2026 Olympics. The rapper confirmed his presence at the Milano Cortina 2026. While the event is far away, the fans couldn’t help but await his return as a Sports commentator.

Snoop Dogg also donned some customized outfits at this year’s Summer games that went viral on the internet. Since the 2026 Olympics will be in Milan, the Italian capital of Fashion, he surely will be doing one up in outfits. Likely so, the rapper is all set to prepare for his fits starting now.
