The 51-year-old Turkish air pistol shooter, Yusuf Dikec, secured a silver medal at the Paris Olympics in the mixed team 10-metre air pistol event. Straying away from the regular norm of fancy gears, he opted for his prescription glasses and normal earplugs. His minimalistic, low-effort approach has sent the internet buzzing.
The pressure of Olympics got nothing on him as he stood there with a casual hand in his pocket. Shooting looked like a walk-in-the-park for Dikec as he inculcated a calm and focused demeanor.

As his picture went viral, netizens put on their detective glasses for the shooter. After not much research, they found out that he was a cat-dad and couldn’t stop themselves from being awestruck. Not all heroes wear capes, they say.

Some people matched him with the character John Wick, and the semblance cannot be denied. A user took the pains to put Dikec in a John Wick edit to prove his point.

One user tweeted, “Did turkey send an assassin to the Paris Olympics?“. It was astonishing to see the simplest man in the room with no fancy gears win a silver medal.
Users started joking that he purposely did not get gold to avoid suspicion.
Yusuf Dikec made his Olympics debut in the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Since then, he has featured in every edition of the Olympics. The mixed team silver in Paris marked the first-ever medal for Dikec in his Olympics career.
