Road Safety World Series: WATCH – Yuvraj Singh hits four sixes in over for the second game in a row
Yuvraj Singh lit up the Road Safety World Series with yet another vintage six-hitting carnival as he took India to a score of 218 in the semi-final against West Indies. The series is taking place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur featuring legends from various nations. It has been created to raise awareness about road safety and it has proved to be a huge hit.
The Indian legends are taking on the West Indies legends in the first semi-final today after a strong showing from both that saw them seal a top four spot. India won 5 out of their 6 matches losing only to the Kevin Pietersen‘s England Legends who were subsequently eliminated from the tournament by Brian Lara‘s West Indies Legends. The other semi-final will be between South Africa and Sri Lanka.
Watch – Yuvraj Singh puts on a show
Earlier, India were given a superb start by Virender Sehwag who as expected got his side off to a flying start. After his wicket, Sachin Tendulkar took over and came up with yet another half-century to lay down a perfect platform for the other Indian batters to explode. That was exactly what happened as India started to eye a huge score with big hitters Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan at the crease.
The two started going and in the 19th over bowled by Mahendra Nagamootoo, Yuvraj took off and hit him for three consecutive sixes. The fourth one was a wide delivery that snuck under the southpaw’s bat before the fifth one was also dispatched for a big hit. The last ball turned out to be a dot like in the previous match when he had hit Zander de Bruyn for four sixes in a row.
