India vs England 2021: Ravichandran Ashwin posts a cryptic message; fans think it is a dig at Yuvraj Singh’s tweet on Ahmedabad pitch

There has been plenty of talk surrounding the pitch during the third test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between India and England. The surface started to offer turn right from the first ball and the spinners from both sides started to make merry by picking up wickets with ease. The entire test was over within 2 days as 30 wickets fell with none of the teams crossing 150 in both the innings.
Soon after the test was over, there was a lot of discussion and debate about the conditions of the pitch. Some former cricketers and experts stated that the pitch was not a 5-day pitch and that such pitches shouldn’t be used for tests while some others stated that such pitches are a reflection of the home advantage and hence, it was fair. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh came up with a tweet that received some backlash as well.
Yuvraj stated that if Anil Kumble or Harbhajan Singh had bowled in wickets like in Ahmedabad, they would have taken 1000 or 800 wickets respectively. He then went on to congratulate the Indian spinners. His tweet received criticism with fans stating that this was not the way to congratulate people.
Ravi Ashwin posts a cryptic tweet
Ravichandran Ashwin came up with a series of cryptic tweets which has got fans talking and scrambling to find as to what exactly he means.
He wrote, “Products are sold using various marketing strategies and that’s an accepted practice! We now live in an era where ideas are also being sold to us and it’s a classic example of “outbound marketing”, however I would like to add that buying ideas being sold to us is like telling us “you can’t think on your own” and here we will teach you how to think and also help you think the way we want you to think. After having played the game at this level for a decade, I can safely say that “As long as we are going to buy it, they will shove it down our throat”.”
He followed it up by writing, “Finally. We can always have and stand by our opinions even if it’s against the majority as long as we know that it is our own and not the one that’s been sold to us! “The choice is always ours””
These tweets have now got fans guessing as to whom they are directed at. Some felt that it was directed at Yuvraj Singh’s ideas while some other stated that it was related to the Farmers’ Protests. Ashwin then came with a follow up tweet while replying to India Ahead News saying, “This is exactly what I said in my series of tweets!! I don’t want any of you all to try and give meaning to or politicise my tweets. My profession is cricket and that’s what I have spoken about, please don’t add flavour to skew minds.“
