Zabaleta says that Lionel Messi should join Manchester City

Lionel Messi isn’t having the best season at FC Barcelona this season. The Argentine wanted to desperately leave Camp Nou at the end of last season but was unable to do so.

Manchester City turned out to be the destination for Messi as a Pep Guardiola reunion was on the cards. Messi’s contract at FC Barcelona runs out next season and he can leave for free.

‘Manchester City should be Lionel Messi’s Destination’

Former Manchester City player Pablo Zabaleta gas spoken on the Lionel Messi conundrum at FC Barcelona at the moment. He thinks Lionel Messi should choose Manchester City as his next destination.

Zabaleta believes that Messi will be able to perform ok the Premier League and at Manchester City as he already has Argentine teammates there.

He has a close friend in Sergio [Aguero] at Man City and has worked with Pep [Guardiola] at Barcelona before, so they know each other. Some of the people on the board also know Messi.

“If Messi decides that he wants to leave Barcelona, that he wants to go and play in a different league, in a different country, of course Man City would be one of them.

Pablo Zabaleta admits that Lionel Messi looks uninterested in Barcelona and it’s best for both parties to part ways at the end of this season.

FC Barcelona have drawn against Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. A Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi clash is on the cards this February.
