The San Antonio Spurs recently played against the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. The Spurs were dealt a huge blow by the Kings, losing by 113-140. It’s important to note that they were without their star player, Victor Wembanyama. However, during the game, Spurs’ Zach Collins was ejected during the 2nd quarter against the Kings.

Interestingly, Collins’ reaction after his ejection has made rounds on the internet. In the second quarter of the Spurs’ game against the Kings on Friday night, Collins was given consecutive technical fouls and was removed. He responded by ‘flipping off’ the referee while being on the touchline, leaving his teammates as well as the Spurs fans astonished.

The NBA will likely punish him heavily for making a gesture toward a referee. Collins returned after making his way to his bench and gave the official the finger to express his obvious opinions about the ejection. The NBA community was left stunned with this gesture by Collins towards the referees. One fan wrote on X, “100k fine incoming.”

This is because the NBA has gotten very strict regarding the sensitivity of the league. Many players have been fined in the 2024-25 NBA season for their gestures and words used. For example, the Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball was fined last month due to his sensitive post-match interview. Many expect Collins to be fined by the NBA in the coming hours/days.

San Antonio Spurs star Zach Collins’ game against the Sacramento Kings was cut short on Friday night. Collins was ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls. This resulted in Collins ‘flipping off’ the referee. In addition, this gesture by Collins has sent the NBA fans into a frenzy. Also, with Collins’ dismissal, this is the thirrd time an opponent has been ejected while playing against the Kings this season.

Also, Collins had averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game going into the game. In 22 games, he had shot 34.3% from three-point range and 47.5% from the field. It remains to be seen what action the NBA will impose on the Spurs player.
