Zach Wilson has indeed embarked on a new chapter of his life, demonstrating why he was drafted as the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Though his run in his original team didn’t go as he hoped, he appears to be fitting quite well in the Denver Broncos. The one cheering loudest for him is his fiancee, Nicolette Dellanno.
Even though rookie Bo Nix was named as the starting QB, head coach Sean Payton gave Wilson a chance in the preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals. To everyone’s surprise, the quarterback dominated the entire field and finished the game with 16-out-of-25 passes for 251 yards along with two touchdowns.
This performance made fans question whether Wilson should be handed over the ropes in the coming season instead of Nix. But one– who was most impressed as well as astounded by the performance of Wilson was his then-girlfriend now-fiancee, Dellanno.
She shared a couple of stories from the game on her Instagram account, one of which was a repost of Wilson’s touchdown clip from the preseason game, shared by the official handle of the Broncos Instagram page, and wrote “Unbelievable” after tagging her fiance.
In the very next story, the model shared a wholesome video of the former New York Jets quarterback walking towards her and embracing her in a hug at the stadium, after the game.
Zach Wilson secures Broncos 53-man roster spot
Following this impressive performance in the preseason and leading the team to a 38-12 victory over the Cardinals, Wilson has secured his place in the 53-man roster– recently implemented in the league set to have taken place since this Monday, August 27. Although the trading process after the Jets’ fiasco was overstressing for him, the quarterback is “grateful” for the new start of his professional career.
I can't think of any games in my career when it feels like we're getting into a rhythm [like Sunday]. Even if you go three and out and get stopped here and there [with the Broncos], you feel like you're going to put something together. It feels good to feel that as an offense. One bad play happens and you expect something good to happen on the next one.'Zach Wilson told the reporters
Wilson is fitting quite well in the offense of the Broncos since it has improved his plays and brought out his core potential. Due to his “arm talent” he has earned the trust of head coach Payton, who has also assured that the quarterback will remain on the 53-man roster.
