Zelina Vega’s emotional message to Andrade
WWE shocked the wrestling world with their sudden announcement of releasing Zelina Vega. Her release from the company was followed by a lot of discussion surrounding the future of several other WWE Superstars.
Vega spent most of her time on the main roster as a manager to WWE superstar Andrade. Andrade took to Instagram to thank Vega through a post. Vega responded to the post with a really heartfelt message. Vega thanked Andrade and mentioned that working with him was one of the highlights of her career.
Vega and Andrade’s association in WWE
Both, Zelina Vega and Andrade started their journey in WWE’s NXT as individual wrestlers. They soon teamed up on the black-and-gold brand, with Vega taking up a managerial role. The duo was called up to the main roster in 2018.
The duo continued their association on WWE Smackdown. Vega did not wrestle for a major part of her time on the Blue brand. But she received praises from the WWE Universe for her role as Andrade’s manager. A couple of months back, Vega distanced herself from the managerial role. She was focusing on her in-ring career again.
She even challenged Raw Women’s Champion Asuka for the Championship at Clash of Champions. It seemed like WWE was finally giving her a push. But when WWE issued a statement regarding their wrestlers’ third-party association, things turned sour. Vega did not want to give WWE control over her Twitch account. As a result, she was released from the company.
Vega has promised to her fans that her wrestling career is not over. Currently, she is serving a 90-day non-compete contract with WWE.
