Zidane demands respect from the media; Madrid coach not willing ‘to give up’

Zinedine Zidane returned to press conference duties as Real Madrid manager after completing his post Covid mandatory quarantine. He will take over from his assistant manager David Bettoni, who was in-charge for the last 2 weeks.
Zidane was angry at reporters and demanded respect for his struggling team. Real Madrid lost to Levante 2-1 in the last game and slipped to 3rd in the league.

Zidane, normally a calm and composed figure both in interviews and on the pitch behaved in a uncharacteristic manner when asked about his future. He was upset by rumours that he will leave the club next season amidst Madrid’s recent struggles on the pitch.
“I’m not happy, I’m angry, yes, because I don’t think I deserve this. One day I’m out or a bit in, then the next day, if we draw or lose, I’m out,” Zidane said.
“I’m very fortunate to be here and I’m going to make the most of it until my final day. Just because people want me to give up, it doesn’t mean I will, and the players won’t either,” he said.
“There’s talk about a difficult situation and we haven’t been fantastic lately but we’re eager to turn our fortunes around.
“Last year we won the league, so we have the right to fight for our title this year, at least this year. Then, whatever happens, happens, but we’ll give it our all as a team.”
Zidane will look up to his experienced players to bring his side out of the rut. Madrid have slipped below Barcelona to 3rd and trail Atletico by 10 points at the top of La Liga. With injuries to key players like Hazard, Ramos, Valverde, Rodrygo, Carvajal his worl will be more difficult than ever.
