New Orleans Pelicans star man Zion Williamson has garnered widespread reactions from the NBA community for his recent social media activity. Williamson took to his socials on Friday to show off his new ‘insane’ full back tattoo. However, it did not sit well with many NBA fans as well as former NBA players and experts.

Fans were left unhappy with his fitness and conditioning as they took to their socials to put forward their views. One fan wrote on X, “Mans looked like he hasn’t worked out in months, Pelicans are just donating money to Zion at this point.” Notably, Williamson has not been himself for the last few seasons. Injuries and off-court issues have taken a toll on his physical health.

Going into the 2024-25 NBA season, his situation has been worsened by injuries. Williamson’s illness had initially kept him out of the Pelicans’ season opener. In addition, he has missed the team’s last seven games due to a strained left hamstring sustained on November 6. This was against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, it is unclear when he will return.

That said, In six games this season, Williamson has shot 45.2 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line. He has averaged 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. If fit, he is one of the most exciting players to watch. However, his recent fitness suggests that there is a lot of work that’s needed to be put in.

Fans left annoyed with Zion Williamson’s recent conditioning

Zion Williamson was heavily criticized by NBA experts like Stephen A Smith and Charles Barkley for his failure to be fit. Now, he added more fuel to the fire by posting a video of his back tattoo. This left many NBA fans annoyed after coming across his physical state.

Many fans took to various social media apps to put forward their views and frustration regarding Williamson’s fitness. One fan wrote on X, “Being an athlete and not being in shape lowkey disrespectful to the organization ngl,” while another fan wrote on X, “Let’s talk about his weight.” Check out some of the reactions below:

Aside from this, New Orleans’ 4-12 record at the start of the season is a result of injuries to several important players. Not only Williamson, but veteran shooting guard CJ McCollum has missed 12 straight games because of a right adductor strain. Also, offseason acquisition Dejounte Murray fractured his hand in the opening game of the regular season, further adding to the woes.
