The only child of Finnish 1982 F1 World Champion Keke Rosberg has suggested the newly-elected FIA president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem to tighten FIA regulation following controversial 2021 season.
The inconsistency in decision making on, different incidents, multiple occasion has stirred up criticisms from multiple Formula 1 personalities. Decisions concerning ‘racing incidents’ occurred during the heated dual between 2021 season world champion Max Verstappen and runner’s up Lewis Hamilton on multiple occasion.
Nico Rosberg was signed by Williams racing in 2006 and this was followed by a move to Mercedes GP in 2010, after his 4-year stint with Williams, where he joined the legend Michael Schumacher himself. 2016 season saw Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton getting in a teammate dual for the world title where Nico Rosberg came out victorious in the season finale in Abu Dhabi GP by a 5-point difference.
Nico Rosberg retired straight after his F1 world title and opted to have another life outside F1 “I had given it everything…And with my dream having come true – I’d fulfilled my goal of being world champion – it just felt like a great moment to step away and have a new life…” was Nico Rosberg’s word after retirement.

Rosberg has called on the newly-elected FIA president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, to implement the changes in wheel-to-wheel racing to tackle the inconsistencies.
“Big respect to Jean Todt, [ex-FIA president] for his career, of course. But now with a new person, there’s an opportunity. The sport needs to make progress,” Rosberg told Sky Sports News.
“It starts even with all the overtaking, the wheel-to-wheel action. Let’s not forget that in the [Abu Dhabi] race, Max Verstappen passed Lewis [on the opening lap] and kind of pushed him off a little bit,” he added.
“Lewis stayed flat out, cut the corner and came out in front again. Even that, all of us experts said Lewis should let Max by here, but they didn’t ask him to” Nico Rosberg added.
He went on to amplify the importance of making the rules understandable and easy. “It would be better for the sport if it was much easier to understand. Also, in wheel-to-wheel racing; who is now right and wrong, what needs to be done. A quick decision is made, and we go on….We need to get rid of all of these discussions, that’s important,” Nico Rosberg added
