The Shanghai Masters concluded on Sunday (October 12). It saw qualifier Valentin Vacherot script history by securing a three-set win over his cousin Arthur Rinderknech in what was also an all-unseeded Masters 1000 final.

This week, the tennis world will be focusing on an exhibition event because it will feature the biggest rivals in tennis, plus the $6 million prize is on the line. It’s the Six Kings Slam, where six players will clash for the mouthwatering prize money. It’s scheduled to start on October 15, and the final will be held on October 18.

The players to play are: Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Sinner will be playing as the defending champion (beat Alcaraz last year). Jack Draper was replaced by Tsitsipas as the Brit is yet to recover from an injury he suffered during the US Open.

Quarterfinals

Two quarterfinal matches will be held on October 15. Zverev will be locking horns with Fritz. The American will be the favorite to win, given that he not only holds a head-to-head lead but has also won their last six meetings. Fritz’s winning streak started after his fourth-round win at last year’s Wimbledon.

They last faced each other in the Laver Cup, where the 27-year-old clinched the win in straight sets. Fritz has so far played three finals, winning two titles, including the Stuttgart Open by beating Sascha. The German has featured in three finals, including the Australian Open. He won only the BMW Open by beating Ben Shelton.

In the other semifinal, between Sinner and Tsitsipas, the former will enter the match as the favorite to win. The Greek ace is not at all enjoying good form, even though he won the Dubai Open.

Sinner, who reached seven finals this year and claimed three titles, including the Australian Open and Wimbledon, trails in the head-to-head matchups against Tsitsipas. The two-time Grand Slam finalist holds a 6-3 head-to-head lead over Sinner and also defeated him in their last encounter, in the semifinal of last year’s Monte Carlo Masters, before reaching the final and winning the title.

Quarterfinal prediction:

  • Taylor Fritz to win in straight sets.
  • Jannik Sinner to win in straight sets.

Semifinals

Djokovic and Alcaraz have received the first-round byes, which is why they will directly be playing in the semifinals. Alcaraz will meet the winner of the Zverev versus Fritz clash. Fritz has claimed only one win against the six-time Grand Slam champion in their five meetings (in this year’s Laver Cup).

Djokovic is set to meet the winner of the Sinner versus Tsitsipas match. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has lost five consecutive matches to Sinner, including in the semifinals of last year’s Australian Open and this year’s French Open and Wimbledon.

Semifinal prediction:

  • Carlos Alcaraz to win in three sets.
  • Jannik Sinner to win in three sets.

There will also be a third-place match, scheduled to take place on the same day as the final. If Fritz and Djokovic meet, the latter would be the favorite to win, given that the Serb holds a perfect 11-0 head-to-head record. This year, they met in the quarterfinals of the US Open, where Nole knocked him out in four sets.

Final

Alcaraz and Sinner, once again, are projected to meet in the final. This year, they have squared off against each other five times, with the four-time Grand Slam champion winning only at Wimbledon, losing their matches at the Italian Open, French Open, Cincinnati Masters (gave the walkover), and the US Open.

Alcaraz has faced Sinner 15 times and holds a 10-5 head-to-head lead. Since 2024, they have met eight times, with the 24-year-old winning just at Wimbledon.

Final prediction: Carlos Alcaraz to win in three sets.
