David Alaba
Austrian Football player David Alaba recently joined Spanish supergiants, Real Madrid, on a free transfer during the 2021/22 summer window. Before this, the 29-year-old played in the German club, FC Bayern Munich for about ten seasons.
Real Madrid made quite an incredible deal after signing Alaba as a free agent. One of their biggest legends and former captain, Sergio Ramos, left the club after the end of his contract and thus, they required a good centre-back. Interestingly, the Austrian has signed a 5-year deal with the Los Blancos and keeping this in mind, the club has presented him with Ramos’ jersey number only.
In a recent interview to Kicker, Alaba first time spoke about his former club FC Bayern Munich after his transfer. He hailed the club and mentioned that just like Real Madrid, it is one of the greatest clubs in European Football.
“Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in the world, the same as Real Madrid,” said Alaba in the interview.
In 281 appearances for FC Bayern Munich, Alaba is one of those few players who managed to win the treble twice. He scored 22 goals during this whole period for the club.
David Alaba believes things are a little bigger at Real Madrid as compared to FC Bayern Munich
In the same interview, Alaba highlighted that he feels that things are a little bigger at his new club, Real Madrid. Even though he didn’t mean to hurt any sentiments of his former club, he certainly believes that the Los Blancos are a much bigger football club than FC Bayern Munich.

“Both teams represent absolute success. However, at Real Madrid everything is a little bigger, with all due respect to Bayern,” added the Real Madrid defender.
David Alaba recently scored his first goal for Real Madrid. Interestingly, that came in the El Classico, and as a result, the Los Blancos defeated the Catalans 2-1 yet again. Fans hope that the 29-year-old continues to play like this in the future. Will he be able to guide his team to their 35th La Liga title this year?
