Rhea Ripley finally got her chance at revenge against Liv Morgan at SummerSlam. The Queen of Extreme forced Mami to vacate her Women’s World Championship after causing her a shoulder injury. Furthermore, she kept making passes at Dominik Mysterio while the Australian was away. Unfortunately, “Dirty” Dom betrayed the Eradicator, preventing her from reclaiming her title at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
Mysterio had tricked Ripley into thinking that he was on her side. He hurled abuses at Morgan, told her that he hated her, and outright rejected her. However, when Mami was expecting it least, he helped the champion retain by sliding a steel chair into the ring and distracting the referee. After the match, he helped her up to her feet and kissed her in front of everyone. Since then, fans have been asking themselves why the Latino Superstar took such a course of action.
3) To establish Liv Morgan as a top heel star and generate heat for Dominik Mysterio
Morgan’s stock in the company has been higher than it ever has. Although she has clearly been playing a heel character on TV since WrestleMania, she continues to be a fan favorite. Furthermore, despite having won the Money in the Bank and Women’s World title, she was never looked at as a perennial main-eventer.

This turn ensures Liv Morgan is not only a solid heel but a top superstar on Raw. Furthermore, it helps generate heel heat for the Latino Superstar. Mysterio had become a highly compelling character over the past few weeks. With this betrayal of Ripley, he may even exceed the amount of hatred he garnered for turning on his father, Rey Mysterio.
2) To extend the rivalry between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley until Bad Blood
Triple H is notorious for extending his stories until bigger shows. The same was noticed by fans recently with Bron Breakker, who had to wait until SummerSlam to win the Intercontinental Championship. Morgan and Ripley have one of the hottest feuds in WWE, and it would be unwise for the promotion to put a halt to it already.

Although this feud was already personal enough, The Eradicator’s anger after the betrayal and her shedding tears backstage have injected a lot of emotion into this storyline. The promotion is already looking to host a Hell in a Cell match at the upcoming Bad Blood PLE. Hence, this match could be a perfect use of the stipulation.
1) To establish Rhea Ripley as a top female babyface
Despite playing a heel character for the majority of her career, Rhea Ripley is a huge fan favorite and already one of the biggest stars in the company. She is widely cheered by fans, even when going against some of the company’s top babyfaces, like Becky Lynch or Charlotte. It is mostly an odd dynamic for her to be paired up against the heels of the company, like Dominik Mysterio or the rest of The Judgment Day.

This turn has properly established Ripley as a top babyface for however long they want her to be a good guy. She has been given a proper villainous duo to face and a great struggle story for a babyface. Further, this separates her from other heel characters, like Finn Balor.
