Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are no doubt a dominating force in the AFC, having one of the best rosters but it’s also true that they haven’t won a Super Bowl in more than a decade. Fans often have a tendency to blame that on the wide receiver corps while neglecting signal caller Jackson’s inability in the playoffs.

But three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth is truly fed up with the narrative of blaming everyone else except the reigning NFL MVP. In the recent episode of the “Stinkin’ Truth Podcast with Mark Schlereth, the former Denver Broncos star gave his opinion on the Ravens’ Super Bowl situation under Jackson’s reign.

Your quarterback has a long way to go in developing wide receivers. So I don’t want to hear that bullsh*t from you anymore.

He held Jackson responsible for the Ravens’ shortcomings in the postseason, not to mention they haven’t been able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs for several years, despite them having even a weaker receiving corps.

Mark Schlereth dismisses Ravens’ receiver excuses for lack of playoff success

While talking on the subject, Schlereth also dismissed the narrative of inadequate receiver room by emphasizing how the Ravens have six first-round drafts in Jackson’s reign, yet they continue walking on the same path.

They've drafted first round on talent, they drafted tight ends in the first round, they drafted three different wide receivers since 2018 in the first round.

He also compared Jackson’s stint at the Ravens to that of Aaron Rodgers’ in the Green Bay Packers. He argued both were competent quarterbacks, who didn’t win any Super Bowl, but the Packers didn’t draft any receiver or tight end in the first round whatsoever.

I mean, Aaron Rodgers went 17 years with the Green Bay Packers and they never drafted a guy in the first round, whether it was a tight end or a wide receiver for him. So don't tell me about it. Produce in the playoffs.
Mark Schlereth added

It appears the former Broncos quarterback lost his temper over the Ravens’ recent announcement of signing another wide receiver. He believes before anyone, it’s the Ravens’ signal caller’s responsibility to lead the team to the triumph and if failed, take accountability for it.
