5-time Women’s Champion returns and joins faction, 10 year old tag team implodes: 5 bold predictions for WWE Raw 9/2
WWE will begin its road to Bad Blood on WWE Raw following yet another successful international PLE, Bash in Berlin.
Raw 9/2 predictions (via WWE)
Bash in Berlin was yet another successful international PLE for WWE. With the Stamford-based promotion extending its hot streak, the follow-up to the Germany event will be riveting, to say the least. With Bash in Berlin in the rearview, the upcoming episode of Raw will commence the buildup to Bad Blood.
The Intercontinental title tournament continues as two triple-threat matches are set to take place. Furthermore, WWE announced that Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair would appear live following their championship win on Saturday. Zelina Vega will take on Shayna Baszler in her quest to seek revenge from The Pure Fusion Collective.
Additionally, the likes of Gunther, CM Punk, and Rhea Ripley will address the WWE Universe after their wins at Bash in Berlin. Having said that, here are three bold predictions for tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw:
Braun Strowman costs Bronson Reed Intercontinental title shot
Over the past month, Bronson Reed has emerged as a force to be reckoned with on Raw. After sidelining Seth Rollins and R-Truth with vicious attacks, Braun Strowman stood up to him. As such, the two monsters clashed on last week’s episode. The ring wasn’t enough for both men, as their battle spilled to the parking lot. The brawl ended with Reed crushing Strowman with a hard-hitting Tsunami through a car.
The Aussie will take part in the Intercontinental Championship tournament tonight when he collides with Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser in triple-threat action. Strowman could return last week’s favor by costing the 35-year-old star a shot at the title. Moreover, this could lead to yet another brutal fight between the two, prompting Adam Pearce to set up a rematch down the line.
Rhea Ripley lays down Bad Blood challenge to Liv Morgan
Not only did The Terror Twins dominate their former faction, but Rhea Ripley secured a pinfall over the Women’s World Champion. Therefore, she has a convincing argument for a title shot against Liv Morgan. Ripley did square off against her longtime rival at SummerSlam. However, she fell short after Dominik Mysterio betrayed her and helped Liv retain.
On tonight’s Raw episode, The Eradicator will set her sights on winning the championship back. This time, Ripley will want to ensure zero shenanigans from “Dirty” Dom. As a result, Mami might end up challenging Morgan to a Hell in a Cell bout at Bad Blood to finally settle the score and ensure a fair fight as well.
Xavier Woods turns heel; The New Day implodes
On 21 July 2024, The New Day celebrated the tenth anniversary of their formation. Despite the joyous occasion, things haven’t been going well for the popular tag team. In addition to their issues with The Final Testament, tensions have brewed between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. This continued when Kingston recruited Odyssey Jones to help them without consulting with Woods.
Although Woods maintained he was ‘fine’ with it, his expressions suggested otherwise. Last week, both stars lost golden opportunities to advance further into the championship tournament. And they had another interaction backstage, which suggested that all was not well within The New Day. As such, tonight’s episode of Raw could mark the end of the team if Woods finally snaps and betrays his partner.
Drew McIntyre intercepts CM Punk’s quest for world title gold
CM Punk finally put the Drew McIntyre problem behind him at Bash in Berlin, or so he thinks. The Second City Saint emerged victorious in a physical strap match against McIntyre. More importantly, he got his family bracelet back, which the Scotsman had been parading around with for months. During the PLE post-show, Punk stated that he was “done” with Drew and had bigger things in mind: the World Heavyweight Championship.
However, McIntyre will not allow his arch-rival to move on so quickly. Hence, The Scottish Warrior will do anything in his power to stop the Best in the World from challenging Gunther for the world title. All of this could lead to their reported Hell in a Cell bout at Bad Blood, where they will finally settle their rivalry.
Alexa Bliss makes a shocking return and aligns herself with The Wyatt Sicks
Uncle Howdy made his in-ring debut on last week’s episode of Raw. The Wyatt Sicks leader defeated Chad Gable and seemingly put an end to their rivalry. Fans are now intrigued to see what lies ahead for the faction. While the group wreaked havoc on Raw, Alexa Bliss hinted at her returning to the ring soon.
The former Women’s Champion has been absent from television since January 2023, owing to maternity leave. Recently, Bliss teased fans on social media and revealed that she began training. Given her close relationship with Bray Wyatt‘s Fiend character, it wouldn’t be surprising if the 33-year-old joined The Wyatt Sicks. Nonetheless, the WWE Universe is eagerly awaiting Bliss’ comeback to the squared circle.
