The legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is currently set to return to the ring against Jake Paul. Ever since the fight was announced, it has garnered a lot of attention and criticism from fans. As such, this gave birth to several rumors relating to the fight. As the date of the fight draws closer, these rumors have been cleared out. Similarly, the possibility of Tyson’s professional boxing license getting renewed was also addressed recently.
There were several rumors that in the fight they would be wearing headgear and 16-ounce gloves. However, Tyson personally dismissed this notion and stated that it was an exhibition fight, but they were treating it as a real fight. Furthermore, both Mike Tyson and Paul have been trying to get the fight sanctioned so that it can be a professional bout. As such, Tela Mange from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation spoke about this recently.

Since the fight is happening in Texas, it comes under the jurisdiction of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Hence, a representative from the governing body revealed that the fight card for the event has not been finalized yet.
This means the fight has not yet been set up as an exhibition or a professional fight. Subsequently, this increases the chance of Tyson renewing his professional license at the age of 58, almost 19 years after he retired from professional boxing.
Mike Tyson will be abstaining from weed and sex before the fight
There have been many concerns directed towards the well-being of the legendary boxer due to his age. However, Tyson has dismissed them and stated that he is working hard for the fight. This can be seen in his grueling and intense training video on social media.
The former champion has even doubled down on his preparations by quitting weed and his sex life. This is not unknown to Tyson since he has done this throughout the majority of his professional boxing career.
Tyson even complained about how he is not used to this and hates that he has to do it. However, Tyson wants to be in tip-top shape for the highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul. He also revealed that he has been training three times a day and is going through a proper training camp.
