“I think that is not possible,” R Ashwin on Pakistan’s claim of boycotting 2023 ODI World Cup in India
Several members of the cricket fraternity have given their opinions on the issue and recently, India's veteran off-spinner R Ashwin stated what he thinks about the same.

IND vs PAK
Whenever issues come up related to the two neighbors, India and Pakistan, it becomes difficult to find a perfect solution without upsetting one side. Since the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah‘s claim last year of not hosting the 2023 Asia Cup in Pakistan but at a neutral venue, the debate doesn’t seem to end soon.
Pakistan has been given the hosting rights, but as India, in all possibilities, won’t send their men to the country for the continental tournament, the Pakistani board also threatened to boycott the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. They criticized the BCCI for snatching their hosting rights in a “unilateral” manner without prior discussions. Several members of the cricket fraternity have given their opinions on the issue and recently, India’s veteran off-spinner R Ashwin stated what he thinks about the same.
Ashwin believes it’s not possible for Pakistan not to send their men to India. “Asia Cup was supposed to take place in Pakistan. But, India has announced that if it takes place in Pakistan, then we won’t be participating. When we say Asia Cup won’t go o their place, they will say that they will also not come to our place,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
“But however, I think that is not possible,” Ashwin opined about Paksitan’s missing the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.

Shahid Afridi reacted to R Ashwin’s comment

Reacting to Ashwin’s comment, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi told Samaa TV that BCCI is making such strong statements due to the fact that they have made themselves strong. Afridi wants the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) intervention on the matter but “I think even ICC won’t be able to do anything in front of BCCI.”
Afridi also asserted that taking a decision emotionally won’t help and that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has to take those decisions deliberately, keeping in mind Pakistan’s economy and where they stand at the moment.
Due to the disputes between the two boards, an emergency Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting was held in Bahrain earlier in February. PCB chairman Najam Sethi and Jay Shah, who is also the ACC chief, attended the meeting. Although the final call will be taken after another meeting in March, the 2023 Asia Cup is likely to be shifted to the UAE.
