“Wimbledon, Tokyo Olympics and US Open are my priorities,” Roger Federer sets his focus on the long summer in 2021

Roger Federer has thrown his participation at the Australian Open 2021 in serious doubt as he has stated that he is still not feeling his 100 percent. The Swiss said that he will need more time to make a full recovery from his knee injury.
Earlier this year, Roger Federer cut short his 2020 season after suffering a knee injury, and he underwent two operations for the same. However, he was all set to make a comeback at the Australian Open 2021, but his latest comments put his participation at Melbourne in some serious doubt.
Roger Federer has stated that he has prioritized the long summer in the upcoming year, 2021 which will include Wimbledon, US Open and the Tokyo Olympics. The Swiss does not want to rush himself in making a comeback and will return to the action only once he is fully fit.
“I would love to be in Australia. But it will be very tight with my knee. I don’t want to take the next step until I’m ready. These three weeks might help a bit. The summer with Wimbledon, the Olympics and the US Open is my priority,” Federer said.
Can Roger Federer finally win a Singles gold at the Tokyo Olympics 2021?

Roger Federer has set his priorities for the 2021 season, which includes the Tokyo Olympics which was postponed owing to the coronavirus pandemic. A Singles Olympic Gold Medal is one of the most important accolades missing from the Swiss’ trophy cabinet. Federer has already won an Olympic Doubles Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympics, 2008.
In all fairness, the Tokyo Olympics 2021 will be the last chance for the Swiss maestro to claim a Singles Gold medal which will complete his Career Golden Slam. A Career Golden Slam is a feat which is accomplished when a player wins all four majors at least once and an Olympic Gold Medal.
Roger Federer will also be backing himself to have a strong performance at Wimbledon, a major which he has won eight times. The Swiss has always delivered at Wimbledon and would be looking forward to having another good outing in 2021.
