WATCH: “What a clown!”- Dillon Brooks gets suspended for the next game after he received his 18th technical foul for MOCKING the Mavs bench following his dunk

Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks is once again encountering another automatic one-game suspension after picking up his 18th technical foul of the season. He picked up the tech during Grizzlies’ 112-108 comeback win against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. He finished the game with a mediocre nine points, four rebounds, and five assists
Brooks drove toward the basket during the third quarter and threw down an impressive left-handed jam. As one might assume, the guard was fired up after his slam. This prompted him to celebrate a little too enthusiastically in front of the Mavs bench, breaking out the shimmy dance. Brooks danced his way towards a quick technical.
This was his 18th technical of the season. According to NBA regulations, a player is automatically suspended for one game following his 16th technical foul call and every two technical foul calls after that. While the league has the authority to overturn the technical foul, given the severity of the technical violation, it is unlikely that the NBA will do so.
Brooks has truly embraced that “villain” role, given his several on-court antics this season. He previously faced suspension for hitting Cleveland Cavaliers Donovan Mitchell with a low blow. He recently shoved a camera operator to the ground during their loss to the Miami Heat, for which he faced a fine of $35,000.
Dillon Brooks will miss the matchup against the Houston Rockets

The Grizzlies will lock horns with another team from Texas. However, they’ll be without Dillon Brooks. Brooks has proven to be an important contributor to the Grizzlies. He gives them a scoring threat as well as a defensive effort on the floor. Brooks is a dynamic wing player with a knack for creating his own shot and is a dependable three-point shooter.
The Grizzlies have the option of appealing Brooks’ technical foul from Monday’s game against Dallas, but coach Taylor Jenkins is pessimistic that the team’s appeal would be successful. “We’ll see,” Jenkins said. “But this might be a hard one to get back.”
While Brooks is suspended for the matchup against the Rockets, coach Jenkins is “hopeful” that Ja Morant will return to action after a prolonged suspension. “He’s gonna be a part of practice tomorrow and, then, we’re hopeful for Wednesday as long as everything medically clears out,” Jenkins said.
The 23-year-old two-time All-Star has not played since March 3, when he appeared on Instagram Live holding a gun at a nightclub hours after an away loss to the Nuggets.
