“Now THAT is a Mickey Mouse ring” – Lakers confirming Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook to get ‘CHARITY’ rings if team wins title doesn’t sit well with NBA Twitter
It feels like Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley’s wishes are finally coming true as Lakers approach their dream of winning the Championship this season.

Fans across the world are carefully watching the Round 2 series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. The highly competitive Western Conference Semi-Finals series has garnered attention from everyone, including some special people. Those special people happen to be none other than ex-Lakers stars, Russell Westbrook, and Patrick Beverley. Beverley (now playing for the Chicago Bulls) and Westbrook (now playing for the Clippers) have specific reasons for this interest.
In the past, while in a podcast, Beverley had suggested that if the Lakers win a Championship ring this season, he and Westbrook deserved one too. The candid conversation between Westbrook and Beverley was caught on camera. Westbrook said, “Hey Pat, if the Lakers win, I want my ring” to which Beverley said, “I’m not going to lie to you Russ.. I’ll be there waiting for that ring too.”
It seems like both the players’ wishes are now coming true as revealed by Chris Baynes on NBAonTNT. Baynes while crediting a high-profile source from the Lakers organization, stated the terms and conditions for the same. Baynes said, ”If the Lakers were able to win the whole thing, the Championship. They would extend a championship ring to ALL players who were on the roster at any point during this season.”
This means that according to the set protocol, Westbrook and Beverley would receive a championship ring if the Lakers win it all. This system was apparently put in place by Rob Pelinka upon taking over the organization. This was done to value the contribution of the players who couldn’t make it to the end of the season with the team.
NBA Twitter FUMES over possibility of Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley getting Championship Rings from Lakers

Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley, to a great extent, played an essential role in the early season of the Lakers. Before being traded to the Utah Jazz, Westbrook played 52 games for the Lakers this season. While on the other hand, Beverley played 45 games for the Lakers before being traded to the Orlando Magic. However, both players reached buy-out agreements with their new teams as Westbrook is now with the LA Clippers and Beverley joined the Chicago Bulls.
NBA Twitter sadly didn’t take this news well and bashed both players. Look at some of these reactions on Twitter to the news of them having the chance of getting Championship Rings.
It’ll be interesting to see if at all Westbrook and Beverley get their rings considering the season hasn’t ended yet. The Lakers are involved in a close fight with the defending champions, Golden State Warriors. The series currently stands at 2-1.
