SummerSlam got pretty exciting, with the semi-main event spot being the triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship. Asuka defended her title against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a losing effort. Although the match was spectacular, an embarrassing incident was prevented by Charlotte Flair’s presence of mind.
She suffered a wardrobe malfunction during the match but covered it up with the help of the referee. A moment came in the match when Charlotte Flair gained momentum and dominated for a while. The Queen applied an exploder suplex to both superstars and had them in one corner of the ring.
In an attempt to get up from her lying position, she jumped up in an agile manner and successfully landed on her feet, but the back of her ring gear was unhooked by that jerk. Flair then went to the referee, Jessika Carr, and asked her to hook and tighten the upper ring gear to avoid further issues with it.
As soon as it was fixed, she continued her dominance with the same swiftness. She then attacked Bianca Belair and Asuka with a Big Boot. Needless to say, Charlotte has encountered wardrobe malfunctions during several matches. It also happened at WrestleMania 38, when her embarrassing moment was censored by WWE during the airing of the event.
The mishap was avoided by the 14-time women’s champion this time, who smoothly carried on the match. As Bianca Belair was then injured in the match, Flair put in all her efforts to make The Empress of Tomorrow tap out with her submission maneuver. However, the EST eventually secured her win in a roll-up pinfall over Asuka, only to end up being the victim of Iyo Sky.
Charlotte Flair’s undefeated streak at SummerSlam has been broken
SummerSlam has been Charlotte Flair’s hallowed ground, as she was on a winning streak in the event. But her undefeated streak at the Biggest Party of The Summer became 5-1 with her loss at this year’s iteration. She was close to getting Bianca to tap out of her submission hold. However, with Asuka’s interruption, Belair attempted a roll-up pinfall over the Champion.

The Queen missed last year’s SummerSlam but secured a victory in 2021 for the Raw Women’s Championship. Her victory came in a triple-threat bout against Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. She even missed the 2020 edition but had a significant victory in 2019 against Trish Stratus with her figure-four leglock submission.
This year, many fans believed that The Queen would capture the title from Asuka and continue her undefeated streak. However, that didn’t happen, and Iyo was the one standing tall in the ring after the bout. Nevertheless, Asuka, Flair and Belair delivered a spectacular match, leaving fans in awe.
