India vs England 2021: WATCH – Hardik Pandya loses his cool with the crowd for refusing to return the ball

The first T20I between India and England was played yesterday in Ahmedabad and it was the visitors who drew first blood in the five-match series with a facile win. England were on top right from the very beginning as they ensured that India never really got a sniff to win the game. For India, it was a horror outing as none of the batters or the bowlers were able to shine with the exception of a lone battle from Shreyas Iyer.

Iyer scored 67 runs off 48 balls but since he did not receive support from the other batters, India’s score could only get to 124/7. England chased it down with ease as the likes of Jason Roy, Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow came out all guns blazing and finished it off in a hurry. With four more T20Is to go and only these four remaining ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, India would want to get their act together and perform better.

During the second innings, India went with four different bowlers for the first four overs as they looked frantically for wickets. Despite the regular changes or rather because of it, the English batters were able to get into their groove and plunder runs at will. India’s three-man spin attack of Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar did not prove to be too effective at containing runs although they picked up the only two wickets.

During the fifth over bowled by Axar Patel, Jos Buttler took him on and hit for a huge six through the leg-side. Even as Hardik Pandya who was fielding near the fence asked for the ball from the crowd, they weren’t willing to return it as chaos ensued in search of the ball. Pandya clearly lost his cool and was seen looking frustrated. Eventually, normalcy resumed as the ball was returned.
