However, on the eSports front, a major event in Fortnite is coming up and a plethora of players are gearing up for the same.

The DreamHack event is returning to the game this month. Beginning today (May 5), loopers will be able to enter the battle royal tournament in order to win hundreds of thousands of dollars which will be at sake. Further, the event is open to all loopers and has different tournaments for different regions.

The tournament will have different timings for different regions. The format will be Duos meaning that players will have to play together for a maximum of ten games which will take place in a time period of three hours to win. Out of the 500 duos which take part in the qualifying round, the top 50 will then move to the next round to compete for the numero uno spot.

  • Heat #1: Wednesday, May 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CEST
  • Heat #2: Thursday, May 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CEST
  • Semifinals: Wednesday May 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. CEST
  • Final: Thursday May 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. CEST

United States

  • Heat #1: Wednesday May 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST
  • Semifinals: Thursday, May 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST
  • Final: Wednesday May 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST

Participating in the DreamHack Open is pretty simple. Players must log into Fortnite and go the ‘Compete’ tab. There they need to navigate to the DreamHack Open card. The Open is in Duos format as already stated and will allow only teams of two.
