“I’m ready to face the best in the world,” Kayla Harrison fires back at Dana White after he claimed she isn’t ready to compete in the UFC

Kayla Harrison and Dana White

Kayla Harrison is a two-times Olympic gold medallist in Judo, and she is the only athlete to do so, she has been on an absolute tear in her MMA journey so far, and she has her eyes set on the G.O.A.T status and to do that she will have to go through “The Lioness” Amanda Nunes.

Kayla Harrison has the utmost respect for Nunes in a recent interview, she said, “My goal is to be the greatest of all-time, she is currently the greatest of all-time. The biggest compliment I could give to Amanda is I hope to fight her one day.”

“That’s the best compliment I could give her because that means she’s the GOAT. She’s what we’re all chasing.”

But Dana White doesn’t think that she is ready to compete in the UFC, “I don’t know if she’s ready,” White said. “I mean, when she feels like she’s ready, I’m always looking for the best possible people to come in and fight. If you don’t think that we’ve offered her to come over – I just don’t know if her people think she’s ready yet. It’s a whole other level when you get here.”

Now Harrison has reacted to Dana’s comment, in an interview with Ariel Helwani, she said, “I think that if Dana is ready to pay me a lot of money, I’ll make him a lot of money,” Harrison said. “I have stated many times, I’m ready to face the best in the world.”

Even though Kayla Harrison respects Amanda Nunes, she wont back up from the challenge if opportunity arises

Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes train in the same gym, and even though she knows that they will have to compete at some point in the future she doesn’t want to make things awkward between them. But if the opportunity arises, she will step up to the challenge.

“At the end of the day, when you step on the mat, it’s your job to go out there and find a way to win,” Harrison said. “So, for me, it’s the same thing she said: It’s not personal, its business, and if our paths cross, our paths cross. It doesn’t have to be nasty. It could just be a beautiful display of sport, and then sportsmanship, you know? We could just go out there and put on a full display of our skills. May the best woman win. It could just be that.”
