This week’s Raw featured an intense face-off between Gunther and Cody Rhodes ahead of their match at Crown Jewel. Both stars gloated about their triumphs in WWE to get under each other’s skin. Although the segment ended with a handshake between the two, during the commercial break, they had an encounter where The Ring General attempted to choke The American Nightmare out.

As the show cut to a commercial, Rhodes was interacting with the fans. Just then, Gunther suddenly attacked him from behind. However, Rhodes smartly countered this ambush with a few right-hands. In order to humble the World Heavyweight Champion, the 39-year-old even landed a ‘Cross Rhodes’ on him to stand tall on Raw.

Moreover, the 2024 King of the Ring was left embarrassed by such a lackluster attempt to decimate Rhodes. Following the beatdown, the Austrian star fled the arena with vengeance in his eyes. By the looks of it, it can be speculated that the 37-year-old might be planning a more violent attack on the Undisputed WWE Champion in the weeks to come.

Furthermore, Rhodes and Gunther are going to battle it out in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As Triple H has already announced, the winner of this match will be crowned the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion. With the stakes being at an all-time high, it is going to be engrossing to see who wins this blockbuster match at Crown Jewel.

Cody Rhodes has been operating as the face of WWE for over 2 years now. With his popularity and connection with the fans, he has brought a lot of changes to the company. Speaking of that, he recently advocated for another huge change, and that was to have WrestleMania in the United Kingdom.

In an interview with BBC 5Live, Rhodes said that the UK has an incredible fanbase for professional wrestling. Therefore, he predicted that WrestleMania would take place in the country within the next five years. He named Manchester and London as potential hosts for the Grandest Stage of Them All in the country.

If I’m aiming, it would be cool to get it [in the UK] in the next five years. There’s some really big venues over here that could host a WrestleMania. I think American fans would jump at the chance to come to a WrestleMania [overseas], whether that be in Manchester or London, I think they’d go nuts for it.
